The Balance Cushion with Pump is an inflatable circular cushion designed originally to assist with balance as you stand on it. It makes an excellent seating option for those who seek movement in order to focus. High quality, extremely sturdy, designed for heavy duty work.
As a seating aid, it provides much needed vestibular input when on the floor or a chair. To use, we often recommend placing it on the seat of the chair before sitting. Other options are putting it on the floor at your desk and placing your feet on it.
The balance cushion mimics the movement and shape of an inflatable exercise ball when used as a seat. It has one flat side and one ridged side (manufacturers refer to this as a "nubby" side) for extra tactile feedback and stimulation.
The Balance Cushion with Pump can be inflated or deflated to vary the level of resistance and firmness. Its portability means it can also be moved from the floor to a seat to a car easily.
This cushions utilises an inflation pin. We particularly recommend inflatable cushions that have an external pin for inflation/deflation instead of a plug which can cause safety issues.
The Balance Cushion is often recommended for those who benefit from movement to help them focus. For example those with ADHD. Movement can also help be more alert, "awakening" the vestibular system.
